When a new plant - either greenfield or brownfield - is the goal, CPQP is the Client's Representative for every aspect of construction or renovation. We have learned that our clients need to have knowledgeable and skilled representation acting in the Client's interest to ensure proper planning, execution, and budget protection. In this role CPQP stands between the Client and all the various contractors and suppliers needed to plan and construct a new facility, or to renovate an existing facility. We ensure the proper specifications are developed, a realistic budget is developed, we negotiate with each of the trades involved to get the best products and services for the best price. We then ensure coordination among all the trades, and keep the project on track to the time line. When it's time for money so be spent or incentives to be used, we ensure the client gets what has been agreed to.

Our Approach:

Plant Construction or Renovation - plant construction is a complex process. Manufacturers are rightfully concerned that they get the very best for their investment, while minimizing the impact on their customers. At CPQP, we are our clients’ representative for all aspects of the project, including:

Design/Architecture - design guidance and oversight, tax saving design, ‘green’ design, management of engineering & architect, building & civil work, mechanical systems, electrical systems, IT & communication systems, documentation for quotation or tender.

Site Development - including environmental permitting, site layout, road access, soil compaction requirements & testing.

Incentives Negotiations - state and local governments often offer cash and tax incentives for job creation. We have significant experience in negotiating the maximum benefit possible, and ensuring the incentives are actually delivered and used properly.

Lean Layout - since CPQP members are Lean Practitioners, we use Lean tools and techniques to assist in developing efficient plant layouts that eliminate as much waste as possible  while maximizing the  plant footprint.

Logistics Planning - both inside the plant and outside, including working with state and local governments for road, rail, and water transportation.

Process Standardization - assist in the development of Standard Work, including detailed video, photo and text based work instructions.

On Site Construction Project Management - we are the on-site representative of the Client’s interest, providing the day by day project management needed to ensure construction stays on plan and within budget, with expected quality.

Contractor Selection, Oversight, and Management - seek out qualified General Contractors, solicit and evaluate proposals, and recommend the ones that provide the best expertise and value for your project.

Equipment Selection, Quotations, Procurement, and Installation - develop requirements and quotation/bid documents, solicit capable suppliers, manage the bid process, analyze each proposal, and recommend the best for your project, and then negotiate the best price possible.

Plant Commissioning and Stabilization - since we will be deeply involved with the construction and fit up details, ensure that the plant meets your requirements, systems work according to spec, bugs are worked out of each system, and is ready for production startup.

Production Startup - Work hand in hand with your production staff to ensure a successful production startup that takes best advantage of the new Lean layout.
